Pakistan Railway To Upgrade Three Trains To Facilitate Passengers

Pakistan Railways intended to refurbish three trains to provide passengers with the best amenities as part of its effort to make the department self-sufficient.

The “Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique has earlier issued orders to officials involved to make necessary arrangements in this regard to repair Karachi-bound trains within the next four months to serve the public,” a ministry official told APP.

He said that retaining the Khyber Mail and Jaffar Express on their current tracks will enhance revenue for the department while updating several trains, including the Karakoram Express, Karachi Express, and Pak-Business Express.

The official responded to a question by saying that Pakistan Railways intended to investigate potential branding opportunities for a number of passenger trains and railroad platforms in order to increase revenue for the division.

He asserted that branding the trains and platforms will also allow private enterprises to sell their goods for this reason, in addition to resolving Pakistan Railways’ expanding deficit.

The official stated that five trains, including the internal walls of the passenger coaches and even the lavatories, will be provided to Pakistan Railways as a test project initially.

“The minister has already asked the relevant to complete all criteria in this regard as quickly as possible,” he stated. After beginning this initiative, the department’s deficit will diminish.
