Pakistan Railways Decide To Resume Train Services To Karachi

Pakistan Railways has decided to resume passenger trains from 2nd October after being suspended on 26th August due to flooding in Sindh.

Rehman Baba Express will resume services to Karachi from 2 October, according to railway spokesman Khyber Mail. From 5 October, Karakorum, Karachi Express and Business Express will operate between Karachi and Lahore,” he said, adding that the decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Railways Minister Saad Rafiq.

Time And Coaches Details:

A spokesman said the journey time from Karachi to Lahore is set at 22 hours and more coaches will be added to the train.The travel period will be reviewed after 30 days and gradually shortened. On Sept. 24, a railroad official said he would complete repair work on lines damaged by devastating floods in the region by September 29, 2022.

According to official information, train reservations for this route will open within the next two days. On September 20, Pakistan Railways extended the suspension of train operations from Karachi for another 10 days, citing damage to the Nawabshah-Khairpur railway line. The department has issued a notice to refund customers pre-sale fees.
