Price of Gold in Pakistan Falls by Rs. 2,500 Per Tola

On Monday, the price of gold in Pakistan decreased by Rs. 2,500 per tola, continuing its erratic trend.

The price of gold (24 carats) reduced by Rs 2,500 per tola to Rs 222,500, while the price of 10 grammes dropped by Rs 2,143 to close at Rs 190,501, according to data provided by the All-Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA).

Even last week, the price of gold fluctuated, rising by Rs. 2,500 a tola on Monday and falling by Rs. 800 on Tuesday. The price per tola decreased by Rs. 2,400 on Wednesday but rose by Rs. 2,600 on Thursday (the final working day of the week). Over the course of the week, the cost of the precious metal increased by a total of Rs. 1,900 per tola.

As of 1359 GMT, spot gold was up 0.6 percent on the global market to $1,971.27 per ounce, while US gold futures were up 0.5 percent to $1,971.10.
