Pakistan Railway increases water rates by 200 percent for officers residences

The cost of water delivery to the officers’ homes has been increased by 200 percent by Pakistan Railways. An announcement made here on Wednesday states that water prices for police in grades 17 through 19 have increased by twice the present rates, while rates for officers in grades 20 and higher have increased by three times.

The concerned officials have received praise from the PR CEO for collecting 90% of the revenue from the resident units in the railway divisions. Staff from the railways will assist senior persons when they travel.

The Pakistan Railways has ordered all of its train managers to make accommodations for the elderly on board. According to a PR official on Wednesday, PR Chief Executive Officer Arshad Salam Khatak has given the train managers instructions to make sure that older citizens have access to all amenities in the trains and are assisted in boarding. Senior persons must be given priority at all times in trains and at rail stations, according to the CEO.

He assured them that no special assistance would be needed for senior persons to board and disembark the trains. Additionally, train managers have been instructed to solicit senior citizen opinions for the enhancement of facilities for them.
