Indian Railway Ticket Booking Affected As IRCTC Website Down

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website has been unavailable for more than eight hours. The Indian Railways’ ticketing is managed by IRCTC. The website is experiencing technical issues on the microblogging platform X, according to the public sector undertaking (PSU), and a team is working to fix them. The website went offline around 3.30 am due to a technical problem that prohibited platform users from purchasing tickets. IRCTC was established by the Ministry of Railways in 1999.

Following complaints from customers who were unable to buy tickets online, IRCTC said on X that the ticketing site was down due to technical difficulties. The CRIS technical team is resolving the issue.

It further mentioned that anyone wanting to buy a ticket might do so by going to the PRS counter or by getting in touch with online retailers like Make My Trip, Amazon, and others.

Many customers protested to IRCTC after their money was taken, asking when they would get it back.

Others who attempted to book tickets through the partner services reported failure on X.

The PSU was created as a new branch of the Indian Railways, according to the IRCTC website, to modernize, administer, and enhance the culinary and hospitality services offered at stations, aboard trains, and other sites as well as to promote both domestic and international tourism.
